FIFA WORLD Cup 2010 has become everyone’s anthem these days. After a tie between USA Vs England (1-1) yesterday, people were looking forward for yet another battle- Algeria vs Slovenia on June 13, at Peter Mokaba stadium, Polokwane.

You can watch the video of the Algeria vs Slovania on many internet sites and the live telecast of Algeria Vs Slovenia was aired on ESPN, BBC, Doordarshan and many other channels at 1700 hrs IST (13:30 local time).

Initially the game almost lost its charm when neither of the teams could get the ball kiss the net after trying hard. Suddenly, in the 79th-minute, Slovenian captain Robert Koren turned the match with a goal to take the lead and went on to make the score 1-0 which eventually was the final score as well.

Captain Robert Koren’s 79th-minute goal was enough to give Slovenia a 1-0 victory over Algeria, on Sunday morning. This win puts Slovenia at the top of the Group C standings, and it meets the United States at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Friday, June 18 for the next group match.

Though Slovenes enjoyed the lion’s share in ball possession, but lacked the sharpness to break through a solid Algerian midfield and defense. The game which was heading towards an aimless 0-0 tie, twisted when Algeria’s Abdelkader Ghezzal was given a second yellow card and Slovenia scored a goal.
