Wimbledon 2010:Nadal beats Soderling, latest updates, scores and highlights

SPANIARD RAFAEL Nadal beat Robin Soderling of Sweeden  3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-1 after going down in the first set. Soderling produced some great class in this great game of tennis and big serves in the first set where he was leading by 5-0, but Nadal did a great comeback and took the game to an eventual 3-6 for himself. Earlier it seemed that he may follow Federer as another shocker. Second set was taken by Rafael Nadal as he bounced back and almost showed Soderling that he had won here before!  He took the set convincingly by 6-3.

Soderling did show some great tennis again in the third set with taking the game to a tie breaker but Nadal held his nerves and took the set by 7-6. The game was played with great acumen from both the players. The fourth set was swinging in Nadal’s way since the start itself. He broke Soderling twice and lead 5-1 before ending the game by 6-1.

Wimbledon 2010 quarter finals: Federer loses to Berdych, Nadal struggles, latest scores, updates and live streaming

NEWS IS Roger Federer is out of the Wimbledon 2010. Federer goes down to T. Berdych of Chezch Republic  4-6, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6. This is the first big upset at the Wimbledon 2010. Federer’s loss to Berdych is a shocker to the fans. Federer lsot the first set 4-6 to Berdych who produced great game of tennis. He broke Federer once and that was perhaps the start of a shocker to come.

Second set was taken by Roger Federer as he broke his opponent twice to take the set by 6-3. Federer tried hard for the set and won it.  Berdych followed his first set win by another convincing win in the third set which he took by 6-1. That was some good tennis where defending champion Federer was pushed to limits and was made to look like a shadow of his glorious past.

The fourth set was Federer’s only hope, but he lost his serve in the third game. Bedrych never looked back. Federer did offer some resistance to take the 10th game to deuce but eventually lost it as Berdych produced some good winners. Nadal is struggling to the big serving Swede and had shown some intent to take the first set to 3-6 before going down by 0-5 to Soderling.

Wimbledon 2010 Quarterfinals result: Tsventena Pironkove defeats Venus Williams, Clijster out

IN A biggest upset of Wimbledon 2010 five-time champion Venus Williams has been ousted by 82nd ranked Bulgarian Tsventena Pironkove 6-2, 6-3 on Tuesday. This was her worst loss at Wimbledon in her eight finals with just five winning games.

In another surprise 21st seeded Russian Vera Zvonareva rallied to beat two-time U.S. open winner Kim Clijster 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to reach her first Wimbledon semi-finals.

After Roddick exit last day against Lu of Taiwan, Willams failed to gain momentum against 22 year old Pironkova who is lowest ranked player in the remaining.

Venus realistically said after the match, “I just didn't get enough balls in today. I let it spiral and didn't get any balls in. I had a lot of opportunities, a lot of short balls and I seemed to hit each one out. ”

Earlier in Australian Open 2006 Pironkova beat Venus Williams in the first round but few gave her a chance of replicating the feat on the grass of Wimbledon.

Happy Pironkova, said, “Honestly, I think no one expected me to play semifinal in Wimbledon and to beat Venus Williams like that. Coming here I really just wanted to play a good game, to maybe win one or two rounds.”

She added, “I still cannot believe that I reached the semifinals. This is truly like a dream to me.”

Pironkova will face Zvonareva, who rallied for her first win over Clijsters in six meetings.
